UPDATE – Adobe and Fuji working together for a native RAW-files support of the X-Trans sensor?:

We received a new rumor, that seems to confirm what we have written in our previous post (click here). Fuji really seems to collaborate with Adobe to develop the software-programs and make them compatible with the X-Trans technology.

Our source had a conversation with Fuji staff at the Photo Plus Pro in NYC. Fuji told him that the X-E1 system has been delivered to Adobe, Apple and DXO and is now working with them towards tweaking the RAW file processing from the new Fuji X-Trans sensor. According to this new rumor we can be confident that Fuji is really moving to solve this problem.

He also told us that at the Photo Plus Pro there was a really big interest of photographers to check out the X-E1 (stealing the show to other cameras). He checked out the camera with the new zoom lens, and enjoyed this “sweet package“.

The leaked parts of the next generation iPhone have indicated that it will come with a taller 4-inch display and a smaller dock connector making room for the headphone jack.
iMore now reports that according to its “reliable” sources, the leaked parts are accurate and Apple’s new iPhone, which is widely expected to be unveiled on September 12 will look like the physical mockups that were based on the leaked parts.

Samsung’s unreleased Jelly Bean update hits Galaxy S III early [video]:
From the looks of it, Samsung’s (005930) flagship Galaxy S III smartphone may be among the first non-Nexus Android devices to be updated to Jelly Bean. According to a YouTube video from AndroidMX, the South Korean manufacturer’s Jelly Bean update is rather far along and could be arriving sooner than we once thought. The video walk-through reveals that Samsung’s update will have almost no visual changes thanks to the TouchWiz user interface, but it will include enhanced notifications and Google Now. The company previously promised that a Jelly Bean update would be available by the end of August, although it did not indicate which markets would receive the update first. The video showing Jelly Bean running on A Galaxy S III can be seen below.

Writing for GamesIndustry International, Richard Leadbetter discusses the iPad as a gaming device and goes into great details about Apple's choice of internal components.

Apple's strategy with the new iPad seems to be to accommodate the Retina screen whatever the cost: CPU, batteries and RAM have all required costly upgrades to power the 2048 x 1536 display.

He concludes that "It's no longer a case of whether Apple will bring its own brand of gaming to the home, it's a matter of when and how."

Canon first attempt to fight against the mirrorless world is represented by the fixed lens Canon G1X camera ($800 at Amazon).The camera uses a Four Thirds ratio sensor that is just a tiny bit bigger than our Panasonic/Olympus Four Thirds sensors. Being used to compare our m43 image quality with the larger APS-C sensor I thought it might be interesting to see how the image quality of the two almost equal sized sensor would be (18.7 x 14mm vs. 17.3 x 13mm)
DCfever (Click here) compared the JPEG quality of the Canon with the one of the Panasonic GX1. Please notice that Panasonic has an average JPEG engine while Canon is known to be much better. A RAW image comparison would probably show a more “real” sensor performance. The JPEG comparison show a slight advantage of the Canon at Low ISO while at High ISO the difference is less pronounced. I think you want see any difference when looking on real printed images.
The Canon G1X is a very strange concept I can’t fell in love with. It will be much more interesting to see if Canon will launch their new interchangeable lens mirrorless system with exactly the same sensor size of the G1X! …P.S.: Don’t even think Canon would join the m43 system, that’s impossible…or not?
